Day 3

For breakfast Scott had gone down to the river and caught a couple of nice brookies and we had egg burritos and fried fish. The fish tasted great for the little bit I got (Sue hogged our fish!). Scott had dehydrated some onions and bell peppers for the eggs and with the grated cheddar cheese and salsa packs the burritos were great. After breakfast, we cleaned up camp and fill up the water bottles and started our hike back. It was starting to get a bit cloudy that morning but the sun was out and shinning as we all headed down the trail. At the lunch spot a couple of days before we stopped and took a break and had some snacks figuring we would stop for lunch at the bridges down the way. Unfortunately the clouds were building and when Sue looked behind us, we knew we were in for some rain as the skies were dark with thunder clouds. Sure enough on the way towards the bridges, we hit some heavy drops and it started to rain fairly good.It didn't last that long but was nice enough to cool things down a bit and when we saw how dark it was near the bridges, we just kept going to the trailhead. We hit the trailhead after a few hours of hiking and got he packs off and into the car. I think Jeannie as glad to get rid of the pack off her back and we all enjoyed the padded seats and back rests in the car.

We hit the store at Tuolumne Meadows for a beer and ice cream and thought hard about the burgers but just headed back down the hill to the cabin for fresh showers, more "Trail-ritas" and a BBQ of tri-tips and fresh salad. We thought about having some tortillas with dinner but no one seemed up for them! All in all it was a good trip. I think Jeannie would have enjoyed it more if her pack fit her better. Sue did well for her third trip and Scott's duece's were kept a safe distance away. If you ever get a chanceto talk with him about the trip, ask him how the baby wipes worked. Just don't have a full mouth of wine when he tells you the story!
