I cannot say enough positive things about GSAK. For the $30 USD it is well worth the investment as it is the best waypoint/gpx tool I have found. I've had it for several years and still learn something new every day!
GSAK "is the all in one Geocaching and waypoint management tool. Major features include: Multiple databases, sending/receiving waypoints to GPSr, Google maps, conversion to many mapping formats, PDA output (including CacheMate support), HTML output, extensive searching, macro support, backup and restore, distance/direction from other waypoints (including caches, locations, post codes) and much more. GSAK only runs on Windows operating systems (2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8)."
Visit their site to see what it is all about. Some people find it overwhelming so don't take advantage of all that it can do. But I guarantee you once you get used to it, you will find it saves you a lot of time and effort. From it's basic features of saving waypoint and gpx files in user defined databases (folders), to it's incredible search and filter functions to allow you to find specific information about caches, to it's ability to publish your logs on-line, to downloading and bookmarking gpx files, to it's extensive macro library it's well worth the effort to try this program out. It's free if you don't mind the nag screen but why not pay the author (Clyde) the $30 and make both him and you happy!
I've put together some tutorials on how to use GSAK and they can be accessed from the list to the right. Check them out and you may learn some things or two for yourself.
The links to the tutorials on the right will take you to pdf versions of a PowerPoint presentation I put together to help people get a better understanding of the program. They can be a bit large so may take some time to download based on your internet speed. They will load in your browser or you can download and save to your computer.
GSAK's main site includes help files, a forum for discussing the use of GSAK, as well as the macro index.
